Three days ago, I was having a lunch in some cafeteria with my friend Linda, and her boyfriend Andy. Everything was alright except my back pain, my joint pain, my bloated abdomen and breasts. Then the disaster came,
Andy:”Elle (That’s what my friends call me) you look sick. Are you alright?” He asked
Me:“I am alright.”
Andy: “Are you sure? You look like a big tired elephant.” He laughed.
I’m trying to control my emotion with taking a really deep breath. I just want to be alone. I guess my face turned red or something.
Linda: “Leave her alone, okay?”
Andy (still with his annoying smiling face):” She looks like a balloon with her red face and everything.”
I couldn’t control my anger and I point my finger at him.
Me:” Shut up!” I stood up and took my bag and left with anger, going back to my house.
I lock myself in the rest room and crying heavily.
Have something like this ever happened to you?
So I decided to have PMS. Can we even decide PMS? Not, really...
Well, so I’m trying to get myself to the sanity and looking for treatment for PMS (Women's Most Terrible Syndrome)
What is the treatment for PMS?
Many things have been tried to ease the symptoms of PMS. No treatment works for every woman, so you may need to try different ones to see what works. If your PMS is not so bad that you need to see a doctor, some lifestyle changes may help you feel better. Below are some lifestyle changes that may help ease your symptoms.
- Take a multivitamin every day that includes 400 micrograms of folic acid. A calcium supplement with vitamin D can help keep bones strong and may help ease some PMS symptoms.
Amounts of Calcium You Need Each Day
Ages | Milligrams per day |
9-18 | 1300 |
19-50 | 1000 |
51 and older | 1200 |
Pregnant or nursing women need the same amount of calcium as other women of the same age.
- Exercise regularly.
- Eat healthy foods, including fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
- Avoid salt, sugary foods, caffeine, and alcohol, especially when you are having PMS symptoms.
- Get enough sleep. Try to get 8 hours of sleep each night.
- Find healthy ways to cope with stress. Talk to your friends, exercise, or write in a journal or Blog?
- Don’t smoke. Which, I can’t help not to smoke, I find it hard to have a day without cigarette.
